Reducing Threats to Skin Integrity
For over a decade, basinless bathing has been cleaning patients as well as soap and water, while reducing opportunities to recontaminate skin.1 Now prepackaged baths are also helping facilities improve caregiver communication, one of JCAHO’s National Patient Safety Goals,2 and an IHI 5 Million Lives Campaign.3 This education section will help you address patient skin integrity issues, from eliminating potential bath water contamination to empowering non-licensed staff to observe and report skin changes during bathing.

These unique tools will help you assess current clinical practice, educate staff, customize and implement an evidence-based protocol, complete a performance improvement plan, and track progress, from impact on skin breakdown to staff compliance to costs.
