Surgical Continuum System

Designed for the perioperative care of surgical patients

with a short period (6 to 12 hours) of intubation, the Sage^® CHG Surgical Continuum System combines our FDA-approved 2% Chlorhexidine Gluconate (CHG) Cloths for preoperative skin preparation with our proven, comprehensive oral care system, now available with 0.12% Chlorhexidine Gluconate (CHG) Oral Rinse.

The three-part system allows the right tools to be distributed to the right unit for skin prep and oral care of surgical patients. The system provides the correct tools packaged to be easily accessible to nurses as patients move through the perioperative period. Products are readily available as patients move from: 1. pre-surgery, 2. ICU and 3. step-down unit.

Product components have been designed to match practice, while the configuration conforms to current hospital distribution from either the pharmacy or central supply, according to hospital protocol.

Part 1: Preoperative Kit

For skin antisepsis and oral cleansing prior to surgery
Complete skin preparation and oral care for patients with Sag^® 2% CHG Cloths and 0.12% CHG Oral Rinse. Packaging allows for care to be dispensed on the inpatient unit, in preop holding, in Same Day Surgery or according to hospital protocol.
Part 2: Post-Operative Vent Kit

Oral Cleansing and Suctioning System for post-operative care of the short-term ventilated patient
Provides up to 12 hours of oral care, including a dose of 0.12% CHG Oral Rinse. Prevents waste and is packaged for bedside convenience. Sage's industry leading oral cleansing and suctioning components are included to continue effective oral care for patients on a ventilator in the ICU.
Part 3: Post-Vent Kit

Oral Cleansing for post-operative care of the non-ventilated patient
Continues oral cleansing with 0.12% CHG Oral Rinse and allows for mechanical cleansing with brushing of the teeth and tongue. Packaging allows for the kit to follow patients out of the ICU to monitored units with convenient med station storage.
